Morrowinter is a metal band hailing from the frozen shores of Norway, the brainchild and vision of guitarist and songwriter Jørgen Henriksen. After years of searching for like minded musicians to join the fold, and watching ideas sit in the shadows for too long, Jørgen made the decision to take full control of the band's future and bring Morrowinter to life on his own terms. These songs demanded to be heard; riffs needed to roar, heads to bang, and ears to reverberate under a searing assault on the senses.
The debut album is 100% self financed, a testament to stubborn dedication and creative independence. The music moves between dark, atmospheric passages and crushing, riff driven intensity, drawing inspiration from gothic horror, bleak fantasy, and the haunting world of Bloodborne. Lyrically, Morrowinter explores themes of struggle, decay, revenge, and the thin line between ruin and redemption.
To capture this sound, the album was recorded, engineered, and mixed at the legendary Grieghallen Studio in Bergen together with Eirik "Pytten" Hundvin, whose work helped define the Norwegian metal legacy. That heritage can be felt from the very first note: raw yet detailed, cold yet powerful, steeped in atmosphere but built for volume.
Morrowinter now stands at the beginning of its story. This first chapter is a declaration: the winter has come, and it is here to stay. What songs the future holds, how the Morrowinter saga will unfold, and which stages will echo with its name, those answers lie ahead, as the band steps out of the shadows and into the storm.
